Ireland is small enough that a single day from Dublin reaches the Atlantic coast or the far north, and the country changes completely an hour out of the city. All our private tours in Ireland start in Dublin, at your hotel or any address you give us. The vehicle is yours for the day, the driver-guide stays with you throughout, and the stops move to suit you.
The two long days leave at 07:00. Cliffs of Moher and Galway crosses to the west coast, past Bunratty Castle to the cliffs, then through the Burren and the Poulnabrone dolmen to Kinvara and Dunguaire Castle, and ends with a walking tour of Galway. Belfast, Titanic and the Giant's Causeway goes north into Northern Ireland for the basalt columns of the Antrim coast, the Titanic Belfast museum and the city that built the ship.
Closer in, Wicklow and Glendalough is seven hours in the Wicklow Mountains: the Sally Gap, Lough Tay, the monastic valley of Glendalough and Powerscourt Waterfall. In the city there is a four-hour private chauffeur tour of Dublin, with Trinity College and the Book of Kells, Dublin Castle, St Patrick's, Christ Church and Phoenix Park, and a two-hour photography walk from O'Connell Bridge through Temple Bar. To compare them side by side, read our guide to day trips from Dublin.

When to go to Ireland
There is no dry season. Ireland averages about 1,288 mm of rain a year, and at the Cliffs of Moher fog can turn to sunshine within minutes, so every tour runs in the rain and a good waterproof belongs in every bag. On Met Éireann's records May is the sunniest month and June the next; December is the darkest. In late June it stays light in Belfast until after ten at night, while in mid-December the sun sets before four, which matters on a thirteen-hour day.
From May to August the cliffs are full of nesting seabirds, puffins among them, and autumn brings the deer rut in the Wicklow Mountains. Some dates change the day: St Patrick's Festival in March and Bloomsday on 16 June fill Dublin, and the Galway International Arts Festival in July and the Galway Races in the last week of July fill Galway. Glendalough is busiest on sunny weekends, snow has closed the roads over the Sally Gap before, and the Cliffs of Moher visitor experience is shut from 24 to 26 December.
Good to know before you go
Northern Ireland asks for a UK ETA
The Belfast and Giant's Causeway day crosses into the UK. Nobody stops the car at the border, but unless you are a British or Irish citizen or a legal resident of Ireland, each traveller, children included, needs an Electronic Travel Authorisation. Apply on GOV.UK or the UK ETA app: most decisions take minutes, but allow three working days. Rules change, so check before you travel.
Pounds in the north
Northern Ireland uses pounds sterling, not euros. Cards are accepted everywhere on the route, so you don't need to change money for one day.
Dress for wet ground
The Cliffs of Moher advise a good rain jacket and walking boots. The stones of the Giant's Causeway are slippery when wet, and the paths at Glendalough are uneven in places. Tell us about any mobility needs when you book and we plan around them.
What the price includes
The vehicle, the driver-guide, fuel, tolls and parking, for your group alone. The Cliffs of Moher entrance is included on that tour, and the Giant's Causeway and Titanic Belfast tickets on the Belfast tour. Glendalough is free to enter. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before, refunded in full.

Questions about private tours in Ireland
How much does a private tour in Ireland cost?
The price is for the whole group, not per person, and depends on how many of you travel and the vehicle that needs. Prices start from €159.90. You see the exact figure when you choose the number of people.
Where do the tours start?
In Dublin. We collect you from any hotel or address in the city. The photography walk meets at O'Connell Bridge.
What is the best day trip from Dublin?
It depends on what you came for. The Cliffs of Moher and Galway for the Atlantic coast; Belfast and the Giant's Causeway for the north and the Titanic story; Wicklow and Glendalough if you would rather not spend six hours of the day in a car.
Can we change the stops?
Yes. The car is yours for the day: tell your driver-guide in the morning or decide as you go. Skip the museum, stay longer on the coast, add a stop for lunch.
What if there are more than 16 of us?
We run the tour in two vehicles travelling together, on one booking. Message us with the numbers and we send a price.
Can we cancel?
Yes. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the start, refunded in full.
