Our private tours in Argentina start from three cities. In Buenos Aires you see the Plaza de Mayo and the Casa Rosada, the cobbled streets of San Telmo, the painted houses of Caminito in La Boca, Puerto Madero, Recoleta Cemetery and the parks of Palermo, and leave the city for the Tigre Delta and San Isidro, or for a day in San Antonio de Areco, the pampas town of the gauchos.
Mendoza is wine country: the old bodegas and olive oil producers of Maipú, the Malbec vineyards of Luján de Cuyo and the high vineyards of the Uco Valley, plus a day west into the Andes to Puente del Inca and the view of Aconcagua, the highest mountain in the Americas. From Bariloche the drives follow the lakes of Patagonia: the Circuito Chico and Cerro Campanario on Lake Nahuel Huapi, Cerro Otto and Cerro Catedral, the Circuito Grande by Villa Traful and Villa La Angostura, the Seven Lakes Road to San Martín de los Andes, and El Bolsón and Lago Puelo.
Every tour is private. The car and the driver are for your group only, from the pick-up at your hotel to the drop-off, so nobody has to drive after a wine tasting. The price covers the vehicle, the driver, fuel, tolls and parking, and depends on how many of you travel, up to 16 people in two vans. Entrances, tastings and meals are paid on the day.

When to go to Argentina
The seasons are the reverse of Europe's: summer runs from 21 December to 20 March and winter from 21 June to 20 September. Buenos Aires averages about 18 °C, with no frost. January and February can be humid, and spring and autumn are the rainiest seasons, though the rain is usually light. On Sundays the San Telmo fair fills Defensa street, and in November San Antonio de Areco holds its gaucho festival, the Fiesta de la Tradición.
Mendoza's summer, December to March, runs from about 18 °C at night to 33 °C by day, with very little rain, and the Vendimia harvest festival falls in February and March (check this year's date for the main night). In Bariloche summer daylight lasts until about 10 pm, spring is windier and drier, autumn calmer but wetter, and winter is cold with frequent snow. From June to August snow can close the mountain roads around Mendoza and Bariloche.
Good to know before you go
Book the wineries ahead
Most wineries in Mendoza take visitors by reservation only, and lunches in the Uco Valley fill up. Tell us which ones you want and we help you book. Visits and tastings are paid to the winery.
Mountain roads in winter
Snow can close the road to Aconcagua: in some winters it has been closed above Uspallata for weeks. On the Seven Lakes Road chains can be made compulsory after snow. We check conditions the day before and change the route if we need to.
Entrances on the day
Foreign visitors pay to enter Recoleta Cemetery; Argentine residents enter free. The Aconcagua park, the cable cars and chairlifts in Bariloche, and the boats at Tigre each have their own tickets.
Opening days in Buenos Aires
Recoleta Cemetery opens to visitors from 09:00 to 17:00, the Rosedal in Palermo is closed on Mondays, and the San Telmo fair is on Sundays from about 10:00 to 16:00. Your driver sets the order to fit.
