Spain's great cities were laid out for kings and empires, and their main sights are further apart than they look on a map. Our private tours in Spain take a day in each of three cities, Madrid, Barcelona and Seville, with a driver-guide who collects you from your hotel, a vehicle that carries only your group, and stops that move to suit you.
The Madrid private highlights tour is six hours through the Retiro, the Prado quarter, Plaza Mayor and Habsburg Madrid, and the Royal Palace with the Almudena cathedral beside it. The Paseo del Prado and the Retiro are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, inscribed in 2021. Barcelona: Gaudí and the Gothic Quarter spends seven hours between the medieval city, walked with your guide, and Gaudí's Barcelona: Park Güell, the Sagrada Familia and Passeig de Gràcia.
The Seville private day tour is eight hours from Plaza de España and the María Luisa park to the Real Alcázar, the cathedral and the Giralda, ending with a walk and lunch in the Santa Cruz quarter. If you are deciding which city to give a day to, our guide to Spain private tours compares the three.

When to go to Spain
Late spring, April to May, and early autumn, September to October, give pleasant weather and lighter crowds than high summer. In August Seville can reach 32 to 40°C and Madrid is very hot by two in the afternoon, so the summer days are built around shade and an early start. August is also peak season, while Madrid and Barcelona empty out as locals head somewhere cooler. In Barcelona, September to November stays warm without being too hot. In winter the south is cool and fairly dry.
Seville changes completely in Holy Week, in March or April depending on the year (check this year's dates): processions close streets in the afternoon and evening, restaurants need booking, the cathedral keeps shorter hours and the Real Alcázar is closed on Good Friday. The Feria follows, traditionally two clear weeks after Easter. The Alcázar is also closed on 1 and 6 January.
Good to know before you go
Book the big monuments yourself, early
Entrances are not included in our prices. Sagrada Familia tickets are sold only online, about two months ahead; Park Güell uses timed entry with no re-entry; and alcazarsevilla.org is the only official seller for the Real Alcázar. Book before you travel, as we cannot get you in without a ticket.
Cover up for churches
Seville cathedral asks for shoulders and knees covered. The Sagrada Familia allows no see-through clothing or swimwear, wants trousers and skirts at least to mid-thigh, and no bare shoulders in the Chapel of the Holy Sacrament. It also checks bags and has no lockers for suitcases.
The Crystal Palace is closed for works
The Palacio de Cristal in the Retiro, a stop on the Madrid tour, has been closed for building works with no reopening date announced, so check whether it has reopened. The park itself stays open.
Summer starts early
In July and August the 07:00 start is the better one in Madrid, and the Seville day is built around shade and an early start. It is still hot, so bring water and a hat.

Where do the tours start?
In Madrid, Barcelona and Seville. We collect you from any hotel or address in the city, and you choose the start time.
Madrid, Barcelona or Seville: which should we pick?
Pick the city you are staying in. Madrid for the Royal Palace and the art quarter, Barcelona for Gaudí and the Gothic Quarter, Seville for the Alcázar, the cathedral and Santa Cruz.
Can we add Toledo, Montserrat or Córdoba?
