The Milodon Cave

A cavern 30 metres high, 270 metres wide and 200 metres deep, where the remains of the extinct mylodon were found in 1895. A life-size replica stands at the entrance.

Before you book

Opening times: The cave is open every day from 08:00 to 19:00. With the 07:00 start we do the waterfront first, so we arrive when it opens.
Walking: The trails are short but uneven. Wear good shoes and a windproof jacket.
Best for: Arrival or departure day, or a rest day between long days in Torres del Paine.
Start time: Starts at 07:00 or 13:00, every day. Every tour is customisable: a different start time, extra stops, more time where you like it, or a longer day. Tell us when you book.
Language: Guided in English. Other languages on request, if we have notice.
Cancellation: Free up to 24 hours before, refunded in full.

Does the price depend on the size of the group?

Yes. The tour is private, and the price depends on how many of you travel, starting from €340. Choose the number of people when you book.

Is the cave lit?

It is a large open cavern with daylight at the mouth. Paths lead inside.

Can we combine it with Torres del Paine?

Yes. Our Torres del Paine and Milodon Cave day does both.

What if there are more than 16 of us?

Two vehicles travelling together, on one booking. Message us and we will price it.

Can we customise the tour?

Yes. Every tour is customisable: a different start time, extra stops, more time where you like it, or a longer day. Tell us when you book.

Can I change the date or the time afterwards?

Message us and we'll move it if we can — we work with several drivers, so there is usually room. More than 24 hours ahead costs nothing.
