IrelandDublin in four hours with your own driver

Oct 5, 2026, 3 min read, by Exclusive World Tours

Dublin is a walking city until it rains, and then it is a city where the distances suddenly feel longer. Four hours with your own car and driver-guide covers what most visitors want to see, without the walk between.

The route

Phoenix Park

Seven hundred hectares inside the city, twice the size of Central Park, with a wild deer herd that has lived there since the seventeenth century.

St Patrick's and Christ Church

Two medieval cathedrals ten minutes apart, which is unusual for a city this size and is a story in itself.

Dublin Castle and the Georgian streets

Seven hundred years of government in one courtyard, then the doors of Merrion Square, the ones on every postcard of Dublin.

Trinity College and the Book of Kells

The cobbled squares of a university founded in 1592, and the ninth-century gospel book in its library.

Along the way there is a stop for coffee or a pint, and at the end we drop you wherever you want to be: your hotel, a restaurant or Temple Bar.

Tickets

Entry tickets are not included. The Book of Kells and the cathedrals all charge, and your guide will tell you which are worth going into on the day.

Who it suits

  • A first day in Dublin, before you head out of the city.
  • A long layover at Dublin Airport.
  • Anyone who would rather not walk the city in Irish weather.

It starts at 07:00 or 13:00, morning or afternoon. There is also an eight-hour version that adds Howth, Malahide or the coast; message us for a price.

Want photos of yourselves in Dublin? Our photography walk is two hours with a professional photographer between the Ha'penny Bridge, Temple Bar and Trinity.
