Algarve Private Tours: West or East?

The Algarve is two coasts. West of Albufeira, golden cliffs, sea caves and rock arches run out to the south-western corner of Europe. To the east it turns flat and quiet: lagoons, salt pans and whitewashed towns on a river. We run one day for each.

First time in the Algarve: the west, for Benagil and Ponta da Piedade. Been before, or want somewhere quieter: the east.

How to choose

You want the cliffs and the caves

Benagil, Lagos and Sagres. Eight hours: the steps down to Praia da Marinha, the sea cave at Benagil, lunch in Lagos and the rock arches of Ponta da Piedade, the fortress at Sagres, and Cape St Vincent, with cliffs sixty metres high and the Atlantic in two directions.

You want the quiet side

Faro, Tavira and the Ria Formosa. Eight hours: Faro's walled old town, the lagoons and barrier islands of the Ria Formosa natural park, lunch by the river in Tavira, and the clifftop village of Cacela Velha.

Four things worth knowing before you book

Benagil is seen from the water

Boats and kayaks go into the cave from Benagil beach, and landing inside it is no longer allowed. The boat or kayak is not included; we take you to the beach.

We collect you anywhere in the Algarve

From your hotel, wherever it is on the coast, and from Faro airport if you want to start straight from your flight. Boat trips to the Ria Formosa islands can be added: we drop you at the jetty and collect you when you are back.

Private costs less than you think for a group

A coach seat is cheap for one person and stops being cheap at four. Our prices are by group size, not per seat: up to four of you share one car at one price, and the price only steps up when you need a van. And you are not waiting for forty strangers at every stop.
